In July of 1997 VERB released their first collection of studio recordings showcasing a wide array of styles. Their initial demo was widely received and word began to spread. VERB however would make its mark on the live stage.
VERB's reputation as an energetic live experience grew quickly. Seamless segues and impromptu jamming led to the band being voted best band in the New Jersey publication "Rock and a Tight Place" in December of 1997.
VERB followed up their demo with "Road Trip". The CD is live recordings from the summer of 1998. The following review of "Road Trip" was pulled from Instant Magazine out of Boston: "VERB is an eclectic five piece band hailing from New York City whose influences are all over the map. Most importantly, though, is the fact that they combine these influences everything from rock, to funk, to metal, to folk into a melting pot of cool, unique music. VERB can easily be categorized but they are not easily describable. So with that said, I'm not even going to try. You'll have to check them out for yourself."
The wide array of influences, styles, and tastes the individual members bring to the table ensures an exciting future.
VERB is: Carlos Bermudez (vocals) Rick DeLuca (drums) Warren Kimmel (guitar, trumpet, vocals) Keith O'Dwyer (bass, harmonica) Dan Plotner (guitar, vocals).
